XM Datalink Choices

XM Radio data isn’t the only weather game in town but it’s becoming the hottest. Here’s the state-of-the-art in XM, for both portable and panel-mount systems.

Like everyone else contemplating installing weather datalink in the cockpit two years ago, we were awaiting the inevitable shakeout as numerous contenders vied for what appeared to be a limited market. Although the market has grown, it appears to us that XM Radio-based WxWorx datalink is emerging as the one to beat, with WSI’s satellite-based system as strong competition mainly in the panel-mount realm.
