Cirrus Jet G2+: More Power, Gogo Wi-Fi

With a Cirrus CAPS whole-airplane parachute, Garmin's emergency Autoland (called Cirrus Safe Return), auto throttle and now more takeoff and climb performance, the G2+ is arguably one of the safest GA singles On The Cover: That's the 2021 Cirrus Vision Jet G2+. Cirrus is known for making regular improvements and tweaks to its model line, and the latest upgrade for the SF-50 Vision comes in the way of more takeoff thrust. In some cases it makes up to 20 Percent more takeoff thrust thanks to an update to the FADEC system that's on the Williams FJ33 engine, without any pilot interaction. To keep the cabin dwellers happy, Cirrus is offering a Gogo Wi-Fi system. The flight trial begins on page 4.

Cirrus Aircraft has never been one to let its product line go stale and like its SR piston line, has been making incremental improvements and tweaks to its SF-50 single-engine jet.

It’s tough to believe, but the company has populated the market with close to 300 Vision Jets since earning the type certificate back in 2016. In 2019, the G2 model came along, equipped with RVSM and a 31,000-foot operating ceiling, a quieter passenger cabin, plus the Garmin Perspective+ avionics suite with Safe Return—a version of Garmin’s emergency Autoland.
