The tightly knit Northern New Jersey aviation community has been buzzing about the potential loss of Aeroflex-Andover Airport (12N) in the state’s rural  Sussex County ever since the New Jersey Forest Fire Service in June announced plans to demolish the bulk of the facility’s hangars.

Eviction notices have now been issued to airport hangar tenants, affecting flight training and maintenance operations alongside several aircraft owners. The notices give tenants until December 31 to vacate the historic, concrete-block hangars, each of which can accommodate multiple aircraft.
