We all have our favorite time of year for flying, which often depends on where we live. Like many Northeasterners, I have a special affection for autumn, when the changing colors of foliage reach their peak and flying becomes the best way to see the spectacle while avoiding the leaf-peeping crowds and traffic jams.

On a recent flight to visit our son in Geneva, New York, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region, we took in a range of scenery.
