The Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF) has announced it has taken stewardship of High Rock Airfield (68MD), a private grass strip situated on a bend of the Potomac River’s North Branch about 96 nm northwest of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (KDCA).

The field was a gift to the RAF from the late Bob Armstrong, a longtime aviation enthusiast who based a collection of vintage aircraft at High Rock. Acquisition of the airport  gives a boost to the RAF’s Expanding the Map initiative.
